Announcing a Wicked Demon Slayer prize

I was going to offer a nice gift basket as a prize, but you know what? I'm more excited than that. Sooo...for the uber fun, sublimely cool commenters on my post, one of you is going to win the very first copy released of The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers. You literally can't get this anywhere else.

I don't even have ARCs yet, the only thing released so far is the excerpt, but I'll bind one of my original manuscripts for you, autograph it, and let you have at it. Contest runs all week. Good luck!

That sounds fantastic!

Wow would love to win that...now to saying something cool.
"wow is that a demon over there!" *sneaks in while being not that cool* lol

Enjoyed the excerpt & can't wait to read the full copy!

Yeah, I got a wild hair this morning and thought, hey - I have a manuscript right here. :)

What a cool prize. I had to reread your post a couple of times to make sure I understood it right. I guess that's what happens when you haven't slept in two days. I'm starting to see things. Sigh's why can't see demons and not cats that aren't there.

That's very cool :-) Count me in!

What a awesome prize. I cant wait to read it.

This is even better than an ARC. :D

I can't wait to read this book.

Angie you're having a wild hair morning, I'm having a bad hair week. Maybe you should have like Demon Slayer tryouts, something in the order of America's Top Model elimination rounds. See if bloggers get through those grueling events such as boiling roadkill down whilst wearing a leather thong and having demons trying throwing all sorts of inhuman remains at them.
You could create a Baddest Demon Slayer course similar to the Toughest Race they have in England. 600 pulled out because of hypothermia, broken bones and they were happy that this year there were no deaths. Bloody British understatements.

Celebrith said...

I'll agree with Carmen - that is a WAY cool prize. I've read a couple of ARCs in the past, but it would be really neat to get to read an actual manuscript!

Angie Fox said...

Woo hoo! Glad everyone is excited. I sure am. My husband was like, "you realize there might be a typo somewhere in your original." Yeah, well, that's what you get with original author goodies.

Angie Fox said...

Nice idea on the demon slayer tryouts, Natalie. I'm cracking up because in the first few chapters of The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers, Lizzie has to go to the supernatural version of the DMV to pass the muster. Although they do not wear thongs there. Lizzie might have walked away at that point. She's getting pretty kick ass in this next book.

What a fantastic prize.

Great prize!

BethRe said...

Wow what an awesome prize

Raven99 said...

Wow, that is a terrific prize! Whoever wins is very lucky.

SaturnMoonie said...

OMG I'm drooling, that's the most appetizing prize ever!

And I'm LOVING Natalie's idea too! Count me in, I'll wear the thong. I feel sorry for whoever sees me in it though. :P But screw it, I'm in it to win it! HAHA.

As for something cool to say...yeah...I'm not very cool, so I gotz nothing. But I will say that The Heathen (aka Selene The Cat) just stole my bag of crackers from my lap! So now I gotta go chase her down.

Angie Fox said...

You guys are cracking me up. Okay, before I lose complete control of this group (too late), let me just say that this is *not* a thong giveaway. Like many things that occur on this blog, it is simply one of Natalie's ideas run amok.

Now let's go help SaturnMoonie wrestle her crackers away from the cat.

Natalie Hatch said...

Ah but Angie could you imagine the amount of male patronage you'd get if it was? LOL. Thongs in australia means flip flop shoes. But hey if you girls want to wear them I'll keep my nikes on and get through the obstacle course no worries. And Angie would I ever lead a thread astray? Perish the thought. *grins*

SaturnMoonie said...

OH!!! Hehe, my bad. But hey that's even better! :P I'm Puerto Rican, all I wear is Flip Flops :P :P

UPDATE: I found the heathen in the hallway, she had managed to open the bag and was pulling a cracker out when I got to her. I let her have it, but took the rest of the bag. It's not like she ate the thing anyway, she just made a mess...she likes to do that. LOL

Cool prize! Count me in

What a fantastic prize ! The book, not the thong:D

MarthaE said...

Very "cool" prize of a manuscript of what sounds like a "hot" read!! Please include my entry!

Shawn said...

OOOOHHHHHH! I was on my way to bed and figured I'd just give a few blogs a quick browse....good thing I did! Now I'll have sweet dreams all night long thinking of this contest!

zabet17 said...

Wow, that prize makes not getting a snow day today totally worth it. (I'm a teacher - snow days are just as exciting now as they were when I was a kid!)

angietheresa said...

i cant wait for your book to come out i really enjoyed the first one

gl with the sales for the 2nd one.

Angie Fox said...

I had a character in one of the novels that I wrote and never sold that wore flip flops all the time. It was her signature thing - flip flops in every style and color. She lived out in LA, so it worked. Sounds like Saturn Moonie's long lost twin.

And at least the kitty was able to have at least one cracker/toy.

Angie Fox said...

I remember snow days, Zabet. My brother and I would be up at dawn, watching the snow, hoping, praying it was enough.

Angie Fox said...

Thanks, Angietheresa. I can hardly believe the second book is almost out. It feels so quick.

Still, The Dangerous Book for Demon Slayers was so much fun to write I can't wait for people to be able to read it.

Brandy W said...

Count me in please. This gives me an excuse to go out and buy the first book.

blondmenace7 said...

Angie, I'm so excited about your new book, I can't wait for it to be released. Congratulations!!

Claudia said...

Fantastic prize! I would love to have a copy!

spudznbelle said...

I wish I had taken longer to read the first book because I am impatiently anticipating this next book coming out. It would be wonderful to be able to win a signed manuscript! Can't resist putting in for a chance at it.

tetewa said...

Loved the first one and can't wait to read this one!

Briana said...

Count me in : )! I Loved the first book and couldn't put it down. I can hardly wait for "A Wicked Demon Slayer" to come out.

SaturnMoonie said...

OMG Angie, that DOES sound like my long lost twin! :O

I have flip flops in all types of colors. I even have Spongebob flip flops and Alice in Wonderland ones.

Now you have me interested in THAT novel. :P

Angie Fox said...

LOL That novel will most likely never see the light of day. I loved writing it - the main character is a writer on a childrens television show and this Hollywood-type mystery erupts.

Unfortunately, that was my first try at novel writing and my characters completely got away from me. Even now, if I don't watch it, they'll take over. But back then, it was like I was trying to drive a hot rod with no brakes.

sovaught said...

Wow, a signed manuscript! You are awesome. That would be great!

blondmenace7 said...

i enjoyed the first one sooo muc also. i raved about it to every and anyone who would listen. i even ended up sending a copy to one of the best friends i have ever had--all the way to NY. she really enjoyed it, too. and honestly--there was no way either of us would have slowed down our reading. it was too good to put down. i love books where you can feel like you are really there, a part of the story. or as if there is a movie playing in your mind as you read. that's what you give us, angie--and it's a wonderful gift!!! thank you for doing what you do so well!! have a great night everyone!!

This is an awesome prize and I would love to add this to my paranormal library (literally I am building a library in my new house). This book made me really LOL!

Tara said...

Can't wait for the new book!

Brownie1971 said...

Thanks for the great reading material. I love it!

Angie Fox said...

Oh Melissa, I am so envying your library! Although my bedroom is quicky turning into one...

Angie Fox said...

I'm taking entries on my personal blog as well (although an entry here is an entry there) but it came up that people might want to have a marked up manuscript. So how about I give the winner a choice?

You can have the pristine manuscript (that started this whole thing) or you can have my personal, marked up version (the one with my notes for the third book and the series in general). Winner's choice!

blondmenace7 said...

This contest gets better and better everyday!! But in the one in a million chance i win---I'd like to be surprised. i just wouldn't be able to choose. So--either way I;d be happy:)

Vicki said...

The marked up one with your comments for the third book. OMG, I would love to win that. Of course I did say on my blog when I linked here I wouldn't enter since I was linking to it. But man, you've added a choice. I'm such a choice kinda girl. :)

Really, a marked up one...wow!!

Angie Fox said...

Well provided you can read my handwriting. I don't think it's that bad, although I did get C's in third grade handwriting class. Made me cry, since I was an A and B student. I've toughened up since then. Mostly.

SaturnMoonie said...

Oh wow, this just keeps getting better and better...

gotta go get a bucket for all this drool. :P

Malicious Intent said...

I found your site through writing with Vicki. I don't have to many books in the house as I have a 15 year old son with severe autism and he kind shreds paper. So I have to hide books including my antique books I collect. But this sounded fun and worthy of one of my hiding spots. So count me in!

I am hoping to write a book some day, Vicki is willing to help guide me. I do newsletters, but a books seems so overwhelming! I admire those who can do it.

Angie Fox said...

I've read some of Vicki's work - she's very good.

It's great to hear you're writing too. A book is a big undertaking, but you do it like you do any other kind of writing - one page at a time. :)

Oooooh, that is a cool prize. I'm in!

Hi Angie,

A lot of entries on this giveaway and no doubt many of them deserve the ARC but do they really need it !

If you are prepared to ship this far, I could really do with a book like that here in darkest Africa.

There are very many demaons here that need slaying to help the continent jump into the 21st century.

All the best.
