Happy funtime post

First, I have a winner to post. Lisa, you won all three of Larissa's marvelous books. Email me at ann.aguirre at gmail.com with your mailing info, and I will get you hooked up.

So I survived release day. It's a tremendously exciting time, but it's also stressful. You want your book to do well, but beyond a certain point, you have to just step back and let go. That can be hard to do. Nevertheless, I think I've managed it.

As part of my cunning ad campaign, I designed the following: Ad

Doesn't that make you want to run out to the bookstore RIGHT NOW? You should mix up a pitcher of margaritas when you get back because all the Corine Solomon books will be named after tequila cocktails. I think that's why Angie was talking about drinks in her contest yesterday. (Thanks, Angie! And thanks to Jess too for the interview.) People have really been showing me the love this week, and it has left me with a sweet case of the warm fuzzies.

It makes me want to pay it forward. So tell me what kind thing you've done this week, and you could win a $10 Amazon gift certificate. You don't have to use it to buy my book (but I hope you will!) One day only. I'll wrap it up at night, as Angie did.

ETA: Winner = JAXON! Email me at ann.aguirre at gmail.com.

It DOES make me twitch to go out and buy the book! My pay-it-forward bit was niece wrangling to give my beleaguered SIL a break during her weekend of single parenting.

Coming in late with release-day congrats, Ann. I've just spent the last two days doing my first-ever electronic edit. Worked morning until night and my eyes hurt! So big congrats, one day late!

Oh, that was nice of you, Chris!

Thanks, Casey. How do you like the e-edits? I've been doing them a while now.

I love the title of the book Blue Diablo. As for what kind thing I have done --- I have been trying to spend some 'silly' time with my sister this week - she is having a hard time with work and needs the release. So far - junk food night and spa night... tonight we are having movie night.

The e-edits actually weren't bad once I got the hang of them. I am mourning, though, the end of the big, black Sharpie era. I used to love to get the paper manuscript and use my Sharpie to cross out any stupid corrections the copy editor made. No one could ever read the CE's comments, and I felt avenged!

Congrats on the release, Ann. I am looking forward to reading it.

A nice think I have done this week? I paid for lunch for two of my coworkers when we went to a restaurant together.

I've been waiting to run out the door to get Blue Diablo since I first saw the release date!

Let see, what have I done this week. Well, speaking of margaritas, I had a staff party last night that involved margaritas and a chocolate fountain. I work for Pampered Chef, so there's always delicious food involved.

I also met up with my father yesterday because he wanted to have my 2 year old for a couple of days, which met I missed the Blue Diablo contest - damn! Although, considering the choices were (1) try to win a free book vs (2) sending the wigglemonster off for 5 glorious days of freedom, I think I still won. :P

My pay-it-forward was kind of weak--I let my son walk to the car. It may not sound big, but he's barely 18 months old and SCREAMS when I try to carry him anywhere even though that's what I want. He's my baby, dangit! But he has other ideas...so, instead of forcing myself upon him, I let him have his way.

My nice thing for the week was that I cleaned out the car. Not for me, for the hubby who will be driving it for the next two weeks. (since I drive the kids around in it REALLY needed it.) Hubby will be able to drive in a nice clean smelling car the next two weeks. I will be on spring break with the kiddos with NO car and will get much exercise.

Oh gosh, two kids and no car. I hear you, only I cannot walk around much with my bum ankle.

Hmmm what nice thing have I done? Oh! Haha. My brain is fried because I'm super sick :(

I drove my friend to her car yesterday. She had to park pretty far away, and it was pretty much a blizzard. I also provided all of my friends with candy.

So, nothing amazing, but just some little things...

Well, I did fill the car with gas for my husband last night when I was out so that he wouldn't have to worry about it when rushing to work this morning. It was almost empty, and he's always flying to work. ;) That isn't all that great though. :( Hmmm...I gave someone some cheese in MouseHunt this morning...lol

Still trying to win a copy, Ann! It sounds wonderful.

I love that ad. lol

Hmm..how do I pay it forward. I LOVE to be the support person and help when I'm needed. I let friends know I'm always here for them and I've helped a couple people in my groups as well, giving them the support they need and I have to hope I help in some small way. :)

I sent my friends an educational link about snake reproduction. :D

I also edited the first two chapters of a Twitter buddy's WIP for free--with REFERENCES! Okay, that was mostly because I was bored and I'm a compulsive proofreader, but still...she doesn't know about my OCD, so she thought it was nice. ;)

Oh, and I have red hair like the heroine. That alone makes me worthy.

Hee hee hee! I love the ad!

My baseball-crazed friend left registering for a softball league to the last second so I a)printed out one of his two registration forms(the other had to be filled out in ink) for him the night before it was due, b)put up the money for his registration fee, c)handed both those in to the admin guy when I registered, myself and d)talked the admin guy into overlooking the fact that my friend's second form is coming in a week after the due date.

It wasn't actually all that hard though 'cause I know the admin guy. :D

What kind thing have I done.....does letting my daughter go over to her friend's house for 3 days count. Its Spring Break here and I have 3 kids. We were also going to have the same friend over all day Friday but they changed their plans.

Since I won a copy of Blue Diablo on WM that you had to remind me of * goofy grin*

My good deed? Oh wow, asides from helping a couple of friends look for something. I'm also attempting a sketch for an art friend of her character, just my way of telling her "thanks" for all her critiques, making me laugh when I need it.

Congrats on the new release. I volunteered to babysit my niece so her mom and dad could enjoy a night off.
