Hi Lori, I would looove to win a copy of "Midnight Cravings"! As far as what I would love to see more of in paranormal? I like the added attraction of Menage with m/f/m. I do love shapeshifters, weres, vamps, witches, faeries,etc...all the stuff we expect in paranormal but, I personally like that hot little extra!!!

I'd just like more worlds that you can see existing beyond the main characters.

Valkyrie. I love reading about warrior women, and valkyrie are highly under-represented.

Lori Devoti said...

Jackie, have you read Wild Hunt? It was my third Nocturne and featured Valkyries and Norn. I'm also reading Norse Code. The main character in it is a a Valkyrie.

I would love to see more griffins, shapershifters and menage trois.

I would like to see more demons. I only have a handful of them on my bookshelf and I need more.

You don't see many lesbian or gay story lines and it's been bothering me a bit, really. Even lesbian or gay secondary character would be refreshing.

I would love to see more fae and dragons, I would even be up for some same sex ones, but my favorite would be Menage ones.

Honestly, I'd like to see more emotional vulnerability. There's so much time and energy spent on the action and world building, that characters usually come off as simply strong. Stubborn and strong.

I'd like to see to see the heroes and heroines be strong and terrified for their sense of self too.

I want to see more ghosts in paranormals.

I do love menage trois as Razlover said. I think that is why i love Kate Douglas so much and her wolf takes.

I love shifters of all kinds, and I have a soft spot for vampires.

Warlocks and witches are good too.

I don't know, perhaps the one thing I've seen comparatively little of, in paranormals, is dragons.

So...

More dragons?

Lori, Midnight Cravings looks SO good - love the cover art!
I think I'd like to see more ghosts thrown in - or at least interactions beyond this side of the veil.

In the paranormal world I would like to see more ghost stories. There is nothing like a good ghost story.

Angels and Dragons. It seems like Angels are starting to appear more, but lets make them the hero for a chance. they are usually supporting characters (Nalini Singh's series not withstanding).

Also I love me some dragons.

I'm totally loving the cover of Midnight Cravings!

I'm totally loving Venus Vaughn's answer. I've noticed many heroines and heroes are sometimes afraid to show their vulnerability. I know some authors have crossed over and let their characters be strong-willed and emotionally afraid at the same time and I admire them for that.

As for my own answer =) I'm a huge dragon fan too so having more dragons in paranormals is always a plus. Angels too!! (like Jackie said). But I have a thing for unicorns too...Rampant is the only recent book that I can think of that has unicorns in them (even though I haven't read it yet). Killer unicorns, at that. But I'm in love with unicorns and pegasus, so let's have some flying horses with horns on their heads please =)

Could be fun, no?

I'd like to seem more multicultural characters. Not just the pale faced, curly dark haired supposedly half-Mexican characters, but the real bi-racial or any-racial besides the typical caucasion. I'm bi-racial, a lot of people are, lets see some of that reflected in books! I also like the demons and werewolves.

I'll go with the dragon suggestions but also more unusual shifters. Not your standard werewolves, cats, etc. Nagas, bears, something different.

jeanette8042 said...

Definitely focus on other paranormal creatures such as fairies or dragons.

Britt said...

I would like more focus on obscure mythical creatures. Wonderful Strange and Need kind of touched on that...but just something that hasn't been overused.

I also concur with what someone else said, there has been little to no gay/lesbian plots or side plots.

I'm always looking for new authors and series to read about vampires, their my favs! tWarner419@aol.com

Jamie said...

Fallen Angels, they are far and few between. There are some great stories but just not enough.

mrsgolliday said...

Honestly, I would love to see more shifters who aren't the typical animals portrayed in today's paranormal. For example: fox, polar bear, any flying animals, etc.. I would also like something besides a 'mate'. It seems so overplayed as of late. There needs to be something else that draws the characters together... but that's just my two cents! :o)

I always like books with menage (m/f/m OR m/m/f), and I like paranormals that draw on old fables, like King Arthur/Camelot.

Thanks for the giveaway!
